Our Practice + Process - a little about us.

We help clients just like you to create your dream space while minimising the overwhelm that is 

building work and legislative approvals. 

I work closely with you throughout your project, focusing on the various aspects of 

building a home.

Just like you, I wear many hats, and my typical ‘day in the life’ includes 

+ design visualisation, mood boards, and material selection 

+ drawing building plans 

+ local authority approvals 

+ construction detailing

+ liaising with contractors, suppliers, and consultants, and 

+ project documentation. 

Before going solo, Laura gained phenomenal experience across various typologies at various 

award-winning firms by working on notable projects such as the 5-Star Green Star design rated 144 Oxford Road (2020) and Alice Lane Phase III (2017), both by Paragon Group, Sasol Chemcity Incubator Hub (2014) by Impendulo Design Architects, and the Sarah Baartman Centre of Remembrance (2009) by Wilkinson Architects. 

With a vested interest in Johannesburg, Laura is a SACAP-registered Professional Architect based in Linden, and knows and loves this troubled, scrambling city. 

Before moving to Linden, Laura was based in Parkhurst, where her passion for placemaking led her to be involved in PRABOA, where she served the Parkhurst community while investigating urban solutions for citywide issues.

She's lectured and mentored undergraduate architecture students at the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture (University of Johannesburg) and is a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society.  

Off the clock, you can find her scouring for pre-loved items at secondhand shops, practicing cooking from scratch, or pottering in the garden.
