2. What is your specific style?

We are critical of a one-size-fits all architectural approach.

3. How are your fees determined?

Some of our 1:1 services have a fixed fee. 


While we refer to The South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP)  Professional Fees guidelines for larger projects, our Full Service Design Starts at R100K Minimum in Fees.

4. How much will building my home cost?

Ah, the dreaded 'cost' question. It is never possible to determine the final building cost upfront, but there are guidelines and factors to help you get closer to an answer.


Building rates per square meter range from R 4 000 /sqm (low end) to R 25 000 /sqm (high end), meaning a simple refurbishment will be less costly than a new build. 


Allow around 20% of the construction budget for professional fees (architect, engineers, etc.), together with a project multiplier for unforeseen expenses and complications. The more complex the project, the higher the multiplier.

Added together, you'll have a range to include in your budget for your project. 


We do, however, always recommend employing a QS to do a detailed breakdown for you to work with.

5. Do you have minimum project budgets?

Yes, we do.

  • Our Full Service Design Starts at R100K Minimum in Fees
  • We Work on Renovations with Budgets of R1 million+, and we work on 
  • New Builds Starting at R1.5 million+ (excluding land)

6. Do you have a network of contractors, project managers, builders, and suppliers?

Yes, we do - design is not a solo sport!

We foster long-term relationships across the building and creative industries which you gain access to and benefit from when working with us. Trade discounts also get passed on to you, the client. Straightforward or complicated, your project is in the best hands.

7. Do you have more information on the building plan approval process?

8. Things you as the architect won't budge on?

Things we're spikey about


  • We deal directly with the owner (and your contractor talks to their team)
  • Our proposal includes a research phase, and we hand sketch all initial ideas 
  • We always visit the site
  • Respectful interactions between all involved, always - including the client, any contractors and the professional team.


Why? It results in better outcomes for you, the client.
